Meet the Team
As a dynamic research centre, staff at the Great North Museum: Hancock are enabling the next generation of collection-focused researchers to develop practical skills in object-based research.
The team is well placed and well equipped to respond to the increasing expectation that universities and researchers will promote and extend the impact of their research.
The Great North Museum: Hancock holds exceptional collections and is an international centre for collections-based scholarship. Our curatorial staff are recognised experts in their respective fields.
Through our exhibitions, events, and wider public learning programmes our Learning and Engagement team is extremely effective at engaging public audiences with collections-based research.
Our Learning and Engagement staff are skilled in communicating with specialist and non-specialist audiences, in evaluating engagement and demonstrating impact, and can work with academic colleagues to develop and share good practice in engaging audiences.
