Meet Joanne Anderson

Assistant Keeper of Archaeology

I help to curate a diverse range of archaeological and ethnographic collections.  This is reflected through my various interests and areas of knowledge which include the archaeology of the Hadrian’s Wall area, the material culture of the North American indigenous peoples and the human remains collections within the GNM: Hancock.  Other specialist skills lie within the field of museology, where I am involved with loan requests, documentation and museum storage.

I have worked with researchers on projects that include The Cutting Edge and Hadrian’s Cavalry, and I curated the exhibition “Polar Explorers”.
