Meet Malavika Anderson

Museum Manager

“In its capacity to facilitate access and nurture interest in ideas about science, history and culture, the Great North Museum: Hancock stands as a crucial institution – regionally, nationally, and internationally. I am very excited about the future of this museum which holds such a special place in the hearts of people across the North East. Bringing together cutting edge research, creativity, passion and innovative sector-leading practice, we strive to inspire future generations - working collaboratively as a partnership between Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums (TWAM), Newcastle University, Natural History Society of Northumbria (NHSN) and the Society of Antiquaries Newcastle-Upon-Tyne (SANT).”

As Museum Manager, Malavika is responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and overall management of the museum. She is passionate about the role it plays in enriching the cultural, educational and social landscape of the region and beyond.
