Bringing secondary school groups to The Great North Museum: Hancock is a great opportunity to build cultural capital, extend your curriculum and showcase different career options. Our collections link particularly to History and Science, but also provide a rich environment for observational drawing for Art and Design. We are keen to work with you on a visit that suits: from an enrichment day for all of Year 7, to a sixth-form workshop debating a complex question like whether we should display mummified people.
“Staff were massively knowledgeable of the museum and the KS3 curriculum and adapted and accommodated for our needs expertly” - Secondary School teacher
“The timetable suggested worked fantastically. The workshops were fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed by staff and students. We would love to come again!” - Secondary School teacher
