Dates

Friday 14 March

Enjoy a bespoke day at the museum, designed to meet the needs of SEND schools and groups, with a relaxed environment and flexible options to ensure an engaging and enjoyable visit.

A Calmer, Quieter Environment Experience the museum without pre-booked mainstream school classes. The atmosphere will be quieter and calmer, with breakout spaces provided for each group booking to give everyone the chance to rest and recharge when needed.

Planetarium and Relaxed Planetarium Take part in sensory experiences in the planetarium, designed to spark curiosity while being flexible to your group’s needs. With soft entry and exit options, this immersive experience can be adapted to ensure a more welcoming and accessible environment.

Sensory Stories Workshop Dive into the museum’s collections through a sensory story experience. Each story uses sensory materials to bring the artefacts and their history to life, making the museum’s treasures more accessible and engaging for all.

Bespoke Object Handling Choose objects that fascinate your group, whether it’s fossils, bones, fur, feathers, rocks, or something else entirely. You can also decide how long to spend on this activity, ensuring it fits the interests and energy levels of your students.

Adapted Science Workshops Request adaptations to our existing science workshops to suit your group’s preferences. We can cover topics like space, dinosaurs, fossils, evolution, animals, or skeletons, we can tailor the experience to ensure meaningful and enjoyable participation.

Meet the Access to Volunteering Group Discover how this dedicated group is making their voices heard and working to make the museum more inclusive and accessible.

Have Your Say We want to hear from you! Share your thoughts on the museum’s current offerings and help us shape new resources and activities for secondary-aged SEND groups. Your feedback will help us continue to create meaningful and inclusive experiences.

Join us for an unforgettable day of exploration, creativity, and connection as part of British Science Week!
