Workshop Summary

This workshop gives students an insight into the home life of women and children in Ancient Greece. Using a model of a Greek house, replica toys and original objects the students will investigate how life would have been different for women and children, two groups of people who are not usually studied in ancient civilizations.

The main learning objectives for this workshop are:

  • To learn about the role of women in the home in Ancient Greece
  • To learn about what toys Greek children would have played with

This workshop supports the National Curriculum in England History Programmes of Study for KS2: Ancient Greece – a study of Greek life and achievements and their influence on the western world.
