Please note that there is no public parking on site and there are limited blue badge spaces which are available on the day on a first come first served basis. If you have a blue badge and the spaces are full then we will endeavour to find an alternative parking spot on site.

Relaxed Early Opening Session
Times: 9-10am (the museum will open to the general public at 10am)
Enjoy early access to the Great North Museum: Hancock for a quieter, more relaxed experience.
This relaxed session is for autistic visitors, visitors with learning disabilities or sensory and communication disorders, along with their families and carers. Or anyone else who feels they need a quieter experience of the museum. If that's not you, please visit after 10am.
You can also enjoy a free 15-minute planetarium show - sign up at the Welcome Desk on the day (limited capacity).
Relaxed Early Opening with a Mouse Tales Session
Times: 9-10.20am (the museum will open to the general public at 10am)
Additionally, visitors can choose to combine the Relaxed Early Opening session (9-10am) with a Mouse Tales session (9.45–10.20am). Mouse Tales will include an interactive storytime, songs, and object handling. Mouse Tales is aimed at under 5's and their families.
