About

Enjoy early access to the Great North Museum: Hancock for a quieter, more relaxed experience.

This relaxed session is for autistic visitors, visitors with learning disabilities or sensory and communication disorders, along with their families and carers. Or anyone else who feels they need a quieter experience of the museum. If that's not you, please visit after 10am.

You can also enjoy a free 15-minute planetarium show - sign up at the Welcome Desk on the day (limited capacity).

Please note that there is no public parking on site and there are limited blue badge spaces which are available on the day on a first come first served basis. If you have a blue badge and the spaces are full then we will endeavour to find an alternative parking spot on site.

Visitors can also book a Relaxed Early Opening session from 9am-10am, with a Mouse Tales session starting at 9.45am on 30 July, 6, 13, 20, 27 August and 29 October. Mouse Tales will include an interactive story time, songs, and object handling. Mouse Tales is aimed at under 5's and their families.
