The Hadrian’s Wall gallery at the Great North Museum: Hancock contains objects found on local sites from across Hadrian’s Wall. Although excavated locally, many of these objects come from further away.
Children will handle and explore real artefacts from across the wall and consider the function and stories behind each object. We will consider the journey some of the objects have made, and draw some comparisons to objects in use today.
We will conclude the session by using observational skills to discover more about a larger item from the collection.
We would suggest following this session by exploring the Hadrian's Wall gallery to continue your investigations.
