Duration: Full day split between Newcastle University Library and the Great North Museum: Hancock
Group Size: up to 32 per group, upto 100 per day.
Suitable for: GCSE History students who are studying the history of medicine. This might include AQA Health and the People, Edexcel Medicine in Britain, OCR The People's Health, or Eduqas Changes in Health and Medicine in Britain.

This workshop is delivered jointly by Newcastle University Library and the Great North Museum: Hancock.
Students will have the opportunity to visit the University Library where they will engage with original books including the works of Andreas Vesalius, Ambrose Pare, William Harvey and Edward Jenner. They will also visit the Great North Museum: Hancock where they will explore the museum and take part in an object handling session focussing on ancient and medieval medicine.
