Arts Award at Great North Museum: Hancock

The Great North Museum: Hancock has developed a programme to use the museum collection to support groups wanting to achieve the Discover and Explore Arts Award levels.

This museum presents the opportunity to embed the arts into other areas of the curriculum particularly history and science. This may be particularly beneficial to schools who are working towards Artsmark status.

Topic areas that our specialist staff can support include:

• Ancient Egypt
• Ancient Greece
• Animals and Habitats
• World Cultures (Polynesia and the South seas)
• British Stone Age and Bronze Age
• Space and Constellations
• Fossil and Dinosaurs
