Meet Adam Goldwater

Museum Manager

Adam Goldwater leads the public programming and strategic research partnerships at the Great North Museum: Hancock. Adam is an experienced museum leader with a strong track record in the cultural sector. With over 20 years experience across Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums, he formerly led the learning, engagement and research programmes at the museum, before which he managed a regional team as part of Renaissance in the Regions and as a member of TWAM’s Learning Innovations team.

Innovation is key to Adam’s approach and he is taking the strategy at Great North Museum: Hancock from best practice to ‘next’ practice. Adam is a strong believer that museum audiences deserve the most remarkable experiences and is committed to driving continuous improvement to realise that goal. He is currently leading the team to reimagine the museum as place where extraordinary and transformative experiences ignite and inspire change, putting in place a path of transformation for the next chapter of the museum’s story.
